Why the Abejas?

'Las Abejas' (pronounced ah-BAY-haas) is worn as part of Minor League Baseball's Copa de la Diversión program. This program highlights various cultural aspects of the U.S. Hispanic and Lantin community and their passion for baseball.

The hats and uniforms feature a beehive in a stylized 'A' logo. The Abejas, Spanish for 'Bees', and the beehive signify the industrious culture of Utah (also known as the Beehive State) with emphasis on the values of perseverance, diligence, and self-sufficiency.
